My Favourite TV Shows

Don’t worry guys and guls , I am not going to discuss any of our saas-bahu daily soaps here ; we are all quite aware of what they are up to .We all like some specific TV shows : some like humorous while some may like thriller or horror shows , completely depending on individual’s choice .But there are few TV shows which I think anyone above 16 years of age should see and will definitely like ,until and unless ,that person has decided not to like any TV show. Though ,most of the TV shows I like are English TV shows but I will share few Hindi TV shows in the end as well.
When it comes to humour , I think How I Met Your Mother is the undisputed winner of the race ; this TV show is currently in its 5th season but it has only got better and better every season .Every season comprises of around 22 episodes (some have 24 also) ,each episode has a duration of around 21 minutes and is full of laughter .Characters like Barney and Lily are the souls of this TV show ,without which this show could never have been so successful. Another TV show called Big Bang Theory is so cool that any science student or geek would soon become its fan .I have seen only ten episodes of this show but amazingly I have already become its diehard fan .One more humorous TV show I would like to share is Two and A Half Men but I would rate it way below the other two TV shows.
Anyone who likes thriller movies or TV shows , don’t miss Prison Break even for your best of the thrilling movies ; a movie ends nearly in two hours but this TV show has four seasons of nonstop thriller and in between you will never feel bored because of its impressive storyline .This show has already ended but its fans has only increased since the day it first premiered on FOX TV .Another very impressive TV show is LOST ; this show is unique in the way its story has been written because every episode come up with something new in it and you cannot manage to miss even a single episode before you move to the next one .If you miss one episode and watching the next episode of the series , don’t be surprised to find any new character or story seems to be passing over your head .
Now ,it’s the turn of our poor Indian TV shows ; poor because even the quality shows like Indian Idol , Kaun Banega Crorepati , India’s Got Talent ,etc, are losing their charm because of over-crowding of shows in which some saas aur bahu makes use of diabolic tricks to get the desired result. Nevertheless , there are some shows currently running on different channels which is maintaining the image of Indian daily soaps : Indian Idol 5 is currently running on SONY TV. SAB TV is one of the very few channels which runs only humorous shows ,though they have very light humour but they at least don’t frustrate you .Recently , Indian shows have more diverted towards the realty shows like Sach Ka Samna ; this show was a matter of discussion in parliament too . Finally , I can say that even though, currently we don’t have much to applaud about our small screen shows but its future seems to be great .

METRO TRAIN …..lifeline for Delhites !

“I have to hurry ,will talk to you later.” ,that’s a common thing to hear these days .Everyone is so busy these days that it’s somewhat difficult to tell who is more busy : a rickshaw puller or a doctor , they both rush with equal intensity when it comes to their job. In this fast moving world , everyone wants to be ahead of others and they rush for their destinations with full force .This scenario is worst in big cities like Mumbai ,New Delhi ,etc, where daily work of so many big corporations ultimately reflect on the whole economy of the country and an efficient means of transport affects the business activities of a city to a great extent .Speaking particularly about New Delhi , transport system was at the mercy of Blue line and DTC buses before the introduction of Metro Train ; no doubt ,public is still not satisfied with the way bus service has been managed over the years and even with the future plans of bus services as proposed by the government.
Metro Train was undoubtedly the biggest gift given by the Delhi Government to its daily commuters in the year 2002 when it first ran from Shahadra to Rithala and it was just a beginning of a bigger dream of making Delhi a world class city as far as transport facilities are concerned. Thousands of passengers used to travel using this single Metro line daily ; no. of passengers increasing every day. Later , Metro spread its wings by starting many new Metro lines over the years reaching almost every corner of the city and taking the load off the buses and also off the commuters ; latest Metro line being from Inderlok to Mundka.Presently,Metro ferries lakhs of commuters daily which shows how successfully it has been running .
Not only Metro provides a faster mode of transport but also a far better comfort level as compared to the buses which always run jam packed which makes it difficult to use in summers ,while fully air conditioned Metro is the first choice of the commuters in summers .Another advantage of using Metro is its high frequency which minimizes the waiting time and let the people reach their respective destinations on time . Besides these advantages , the biggest plus point which Metro has is that it ensures the safety of its passengers which has been a major concern recently .In buses , we have to daily buy the ticket and creates the problems if you don’t have change ;while using Metro ,you don’t need to buy the ticket daily : just get a Smart Card from the customer care centre ,with recharges of the multiples of Rs.50 , it has become much easier to travel by Metro .
Delhi Metro has proved to be a boon for the daily commuters comforting them in every possible way and reaching the world class level in terms of its services ; recently opened line of Metro from Inderlok to Mundka is running on standard gauge ,which is accepted as a standard all over the world ,while all other existing metro lines are broad gauge . In short , we can say that Metro is a lifeline for the Delhites !

IPL …. Cricket at its Best !!

Started on the theme of EPL (English Premier League) ,IPL (Indian Premier League) has already proved its success with its popularity and viewership increasing every year at a steep rate . In India , people go crazy about cricket and when it comes to IPL ,there is no stopping them .With its T20 format , it’s no exaggeration to say that it is ruling all other formats of cricket even when it’s not recognised by the ICC.

IPL started in the year 2008 with a bang ; people watching it all over the world in large number , no doubt it was super hit . It comprises of 8 teams ,namely : Delhi Daredevils , Mumbai Indians , Kolkata Knight Riders , Chennai Super Kings , Kings XI Punjab , Rajasthan Royals , Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers . Each team has its franchisee(s) ,who in other words the BOSS of the team ; franchisee(s) decides which player to purchase during the auction and which player to play in final XI out of the purchased players , but it’s a mandatory that every team can play only four foreign players ; rest will be Indian players.

Every team has an official home ground and plays total 14 matches before semis ; 2 matches against every other seven teams in which seven are played on its home ground and other seven on opposition’s home grounds. Then , top four teams make into the semis and then ,two to the finals. In the first edition of IPL ,Rajasthan Royals was considered to be the weakest team and guess what, it won the IPL edition one ; that’s the beauty of cricket , isn’t it ?

Some people might think that IPL is ruining the future of Test and ODI Cricket , but they are ignoring the other perspective that introduction of IPL , based on T20 format , has made the Test and ODI cricket even more interesting ; batsmen are looking for scoring at a much higher strike rate , bowlers have discovered some new weapons against batsmen like slower bouncer ,etc,. So ,IPL is good for the future of cricket. After the success of 1st and 2nd edition of IPL, 3rd edition is running currently and no doubt , it’s proving more successful than the last two editions .

Not only, IPL is entertaining the people all over the world ,but also serving the cricket like a loyal servant . With two new teams being added in the 4th edition , IPL will be trying to overshadow the craze of its master ,EPL.
